Hello there! My name is Jake Farmer, I am a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologist (R7167). I hold a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Capella university, and two bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminology from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Since 2017 I have worked in the addiction and mental health field, primarily working with adults and families. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment, public mental health clinics, and in medical settings.

My goal as a psychologist is to equip my clients with useful tools to help manage difficult situations and to share my knowledge of psychology with those that I work with. My main approach to working with patients is to use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and integrate psychoeducation where appropriate to share my knowledge that I have gained with those that I am working with.

My primary area of interest is working with adults who are struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, relationships, family dysfunction, as well as processing life changes. I do offer relationship therapy as well, and have completed Gottman training, level 1.
